When I feel sort of ‘left out’ or misunderstood, I try to form new friendships for comraderie.

Meeting new mom friends is like dating.  You look for prospects in class or on the web.  You’re nervous, on your best behavior.  You try to seem interesting and also interested.  Sometimes it doesn’t work out.  Other times, you drive down the highway wondering if they’ll call.

After caring for a small child 12 hours a day, nurturing your spousal relationship, and, you know, personal hygiene and grocery shopping, who has time for dating?

I’m exhausted.

Luckily, I have a new buddy coming over to the house today.  I’ll tell her all about it while our children tear through the living room.
